To mark the film’s 30th anniversary, Vanity Fair presents rarely seen photographs from the Empire Strikes Back set.

Shredded kittens: Banksy opening for the Simpsons

Banksy produced the darkest Simpsons’ opening ever. Highlights include kittens shredded to stuff Bart dolls an chained unicorns used to punch holes in DVDs.

According to BBC News, “The latest intro, closes with a minute-long sequence showing dozens of sweatshop workers in a warehouse painting cartoon cells and making Simpsons merchandise.”

“The storyboard was apparently inspired by reports the show outsources the bulk of their animation to a company in South Korea.”
